Formerly called Sapphire Lake, this blue water was aptly named. It is a sister lake to Emerald Lake, which features a green hue. But Sapphire Lake was renamed in honor of Helen, the first woman to summit Lassen Peak. I don't recall Helen's last name, but that's what Google is for. Here Diana and I enjoy a picnic lunch after a morning hike.
