We
visited Idaho and rode on the old railroad right of way that was the
route of a famous train, "The Hiawatha." We had a long, hot, dusty
trip. We don't discuss this trip.
Washington is home to Olympic National Park, Mount Rainier National
Park, Mount Saint Helens National Volcanic Monument, and a town called
Packwood. There are a series of big forest fires burning in British
Columbia as we are visiting. The views in the distance are compromised
by heavy smoke, still a problem though the fires are hundreds of miles
